I was disappointed with this. It clearly shows two mounts in the pictures, yet the cost is for only one. I attempted to clarify it before I ordered, and there was no way to get an answer. It is another HOAX to get you to think you are getting a great deal, when you can get a much better deal at other outlets. The site is not user friendly, I would beware before you purchase anything if the price seems great, it may just be another hoax to get your money. Never buy from anyone who you can not ask a direct question to. This was a BAD PURCHASE!!!!!!!!

If you're mechanically inclined, you can remove old unit and install this piece with relative ease. It was a bit aggrevating only because I didn't remember the exact placement of the tail end of the worm gear. It should be placed just under the window track and against the inside door well. There's just enough space for it to pass through the opening. If you leave it outside of this small area, it may interfere with the up and down travel of the glass.



Use masking or painters tape to hold the window glass up while installing the unit, it won't leave tacky residue behind. When it's time to attach the glass to the bracket, CAREFULLY bring the glass down and don't allow one end to fall down further than the other or it will come out of the glass guide in the window part of the door. I did this, glass came out of guide, and I worked a short while getting back into place.



The unit works fine. It's just slower at bringing the window glass up and down. The motor must be smaller than the OEM. I assume this is a cost cutting measure. Dorman did reinforce the area of failure by using metal instead of plastic to attach the window glass bracket to the worm gear.



Price is great, considering that I've seen retailers pushing it for as high as $290 plus!

 "Iffy Wiring Harness, but Works OK" 2010-01-31

So this fits in the car just fine, but there's a few issues with this unit as designed. The wiring harness was a very close match to the existing one, but it's defective and wouldn't latch properly. Simple fix, cut off the old one and solder it onto the new motor. The plastic pins used to hold the harness and the regulator in place were too large for the existing holes in the door, so that was a duct tape fix. The motor on this regulator is also too weak to move the window up properly. It works, but boy am I worried about it. The piece that slides along the metal rail and holds the window is pretty cheap as well, and it lets the window jiggle around on the rail a bit though it's screwed tightly into place. Move the window up and down a number of times after you first install it to get the lubricant spread around a bit. It'll work a little faster after that, but it's still not great. It's cheaper than the four hundred plus dollars the dealership wanted for the OEM part, though.

The Dorman 741-769 Window Regulator was not worth my money or time. My old window would not go up because the teeth on regulator bracket were worn down. After installing the new one the window was slow moving and made cracking noise. It was installed fine double checked that. It turned out the motor on the thing said 12V but it was half the size of my old one with the same voltage though. So i took off the new motor and put on my old one and it worked fine. Took up a lot of time believe the Dorman 741-769 Window Regulator is a faulty product. Should just beable to send the motor back and get half my money back.

I use this in my 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe. It allows me to comfortably go to the maximum mileage allotment Nissan allows to keep my factory warranty in place and produces a very nice idle. I don't have harsh driving conditions but living in a town built in the 1800's I have lots of square blocks, stop signs & stop lights. This is a great option if you have lots of stop & go in your drive.



Castrol Blend or this are both recommended by my Nissan dealer so I feel pretty certain there are no issues with it with Nissan.

We put this oil in my son's 1999 Saturn SC/2 that has around 147,000 miles on it. Before we changed the oil, when the car would idle, and also during accelerating between 28-33 mph, the motor used to produce a vibration that would cause the plastic air vents and air ducts behind the dash to give a really irritating buzzing sound. Since we changed to Castrol Edge, the sound never occurs during idle and only very lightly, sometimes not at all, while accelerating between 28-33 mph.

Castrol is pulling fast one. Once of their web sites says it is VW 507 00 certified, however, when I went to buy some from advance auto, there was not VW 507 approved reference on the bottle?!? What gives. This is ridiculous. It is very difficult to find VW 507 00. Mobil One ESP does exist but I can't find it locally.

This oil is about the only one that carries the VW certifications for their gas (VW 504.00) and diesel (VW 507.00) engines. At about $8 a quart here and everywhere else, it is also some of the most expensive engine oil you can buy. I think the price has more to do with the lack of competition than any magical properties this oil has. That deal works out pretty well for both the manufacturer (they can sell oil changes for $120) and Castrol (for obvious reasons).



Edit: This oil DOES NOT meet VW 507.00 (dont know about the 504.00) specifications. They sell the exact same product (Castrol Edge 5W-30) in Europe and it only carries those specifications there. The US product is apparently different and does not have those specs. So I really see no reason to waste any money on this (and now I have to try to return some oil, unfortunately).
